Isole - Bliss Of Solitude

Sweeden's metal doom masters, 'Bliss of Solitude' is Isole third album to date . As I listened to Bliss of Solitue a scene out of the horror movie, The Descent, came to mind.
Near the end of the horror movie, the main character barely escapes what looks like creatures straight from hell. She desparetly claws up a pit stockpiled with skeletons of humans who traveled too the point of no return. Even though she escaped hell on earth, in her mind, she was still in hell. In contrast, the prodominent theme of doom metal is of the completely damned, a final destination within the heart of haites, trapped inside the pit, hopeless, and Doomed. Doom metal is hell's soundtrack. I find the music very rigid in it's art. Painfully disciplined to stay within the desginated frays of descible, notes, and progression. I always picture kids with desolute faces, void of emotion entranced with this type of music. As in life, I prefer my doom metal with 'a splash of hope' which would render it something other than doom metal....say symphonic metal. Anyways, My favorite track on Bliss of Solitude is the first track 'By Blood'. Totally brialliant! Nothing else moved me Upon final review, I seriously like Isole, yet they are not even considered one of the top ten Doom Metal bands in the world. Listen and Review! Does doom inspire you like it does me? Who is your favorite Doom Metal band? Personl Faves: "BY Blood"
